EXPOSED

"I photograph to find out what something will look like photographed. Basically, that's why I photograph, in the simplest language."

  1. There's something about black-and-white photos - it makes you focus much more on the lines and shapes and shadows and notice things you'd otherwise miss.

    1. Yes, black and white is a whole different world...I actually took these on my phone. They looked much sharper and more interesting there. When I imported, they changed automatically to color (this is apparently standard) and then I had to change them again to black and white so something good was definitely lost in the translation. Still, kind of cool. Thanks for noticing!

  2. You took these, Heather? I thought they were some Winogrands I'd never seen (though certainly not his regular fare). They're so beautiful.

Winogrand's photograph of the 'Three Graces' on Hollywood Blvd is one of my all-time favorites.
