From my buddy Ron Wall of St. Louis, MO: a band called The Water Liars.
Here's an interview.
Also via Ron, from the American Society of Cinematographers, a lovely piece called Flannery O'Connor: Andalusia in Milledgeville.
I am just a sucker for a female vocalist: always have been, always will be. Do you all know Lisa Hannigan?
"God doesn't call the qualified. God qualifies those who are called."
From "Thought for the Day", April 10, in Hope for Today (hope for families and friends of alcoholics)
Tuesday my friend Robert told me that when he's in the grocery store he sometimes looks around to see if everyone else has their jackets on. If they have theirs on, he puts his on and if they have theirs off, he thinks Oh okay and takes his off. Doesn't really think about whether he's cold or hot. Somehow I love that.
Have a great weekend!
Have a great weekend!

I just discovered that there's a band with the enticingly strange name of Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. My rule on jackets. If the temperature is 52 degrees or above by 10.00 in the morning, I do not wear a jacket on that day! (This is my actual rule of thumb. I kid you not!)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Lisa Hannigan before, but she's in my iTunes list now.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite aspect of Nina Katchadourian's headdresses, once you get past the hilarity, is the idea that they were finessed at 30,000 feet in a conveyance barely imaginable to people in the 14th century. Am I strange to think it strangely moving? (No pun intended!)
